Branch a map when the "what if" is real

A branch is for a different world, not a typo. If you only need a clearer label, edit the node. If the seed itself splits, fork.

When to branch

  • Two futures share history but diverge on one assumption.
  • You want a Diagnose reading for each path without mixing edges.
  • A collaborator argues for a different seed; keep yours and theirs separate.

Name the branch after the changed assumption ("if we drop France office"), not "copy 2". Then run Diagnose on each and compare next moves.
